The free plan is not a trial
There is no time limit and no feature cut down for it. A coach can also add and set up more than five clients on the free plan, a whole roster of forty if that is what they have, and only five need to be switched on to actually use the app. The rest sit ready until a coach decides to pay.
That distinction matters more than it sounds. A trial tests whether software works. A free plan lets you run a small coaching business on it, indefinitely, and decide to pay because you grew rather than because a clock ran out.
Who counts toward the five
The five places are held by clients you have switched on. Archived clients do not count, and nor does the client account every coach gets for seeing the app the way a client does. Adding a client takes a place if one is free.
What happens at client six
Add a sixth client and they are added and wait for a place. Everything you build for them is kept, and choosing a plan switches them on straight away. Nothing about the first five changes while the sixth waits.
What everyone else offers
| Platform | Free plan | Ends? |
|---|---|---|
| Evobody | 5 active clients, every feature, no card | No |
| Everfit | 5 clients | No |
| ABC Trainerize | 1 client | No |
| My PT Hub | None, a 30 day trial | Yes |
| PT Distinction | None, a 1 month trial | Yes |
| TrueCoach | None, a 14 day trial | Yes |
| CoachRx | None, a 14 day trial | Yes |
Everfit's free plan is the closest match to Evobody's, five clients either way. The difference shows up at client six, where Everfit prices per client and sells automation, payments and meal plans as separate add-ons, and Evobody moves to one flat $69. That is worked through on Evobody vs Everfit. Every free plan and trial, with what each one includes in its own words, is on free personal trainer software.
One thing worth knowing about trying Trainerize free: their AI Workout Builder is not available on the free trial, so you cannot test the feature most coaches are there to test.
What the free plan actually includes
The same product the paid plans run. Programming and repeating programs, a food database of about 2.6 million foods with photo recognition, check-ins with the built-in screen recorder, habits, the community, the five ranks, and GPS run tracking, live on a map in the iPhone app (in beta).
What the paid plans add is scale rather than features: unlimited clients, and on Studio, which opens later, your own branding in the client app (logo and brand colour) plus three assistant coach seats.
Evo SI is the one thing priced separately, at $3 a month for each client who has it switched on. It is optional: switched off for a client, it is hidden from their app and costs nothing. Every client's first ten questions are free, on any plan, including this one.
No add-ons, now or ever. Other coaching apps charge extra for add-ons. We never will: every coaching feature is on every plan, everything we build next comes in too, and you never pay for our progress.
Getting started on the free plan
A coach signs up at app.evobody.app with an email address and no card. What happens next is the same on every plan:
- A short setup list on the coach's home page, four steps from your details to your first client.
- Your own client account, so you can use the app the way a client will before anyone else sees it.
- A 30 minute walkthrough call to book, where we get you started, show you around and set the app up on all your devices.
- Your clients, added by pasting the list you exported from another platform or a spreadsheet, by email, or with a link you share. You invite each one when you are ready.
None of it needs a card, and none of it is undone if you never pay.
Questions coaches ask first
Does Evobody have a free plan?
Yes. Evobody is free for your first five active clients, for as long as you like, with no card and every coaching feature included. Payment is only asked for when you switch on a sixth client.
Do I need a card to start?
No. You sign up with an email address, and the first time anyone asks you for money is when you switch on a sixth client. Until then nothing is charged and nothing is held.
What happens to my work if I never pay?
Nothing. The free plan has no end date, so your five clients carry on, and the clients you set up but did not switch on stay fully built until you do.
Is Evo SI on the free plan?
Every client gets ten free Evo SI questions on any plan, including the free one. After that, Evo SI needs a paid plan, and it is $3 a month for each client the coach switches it on for.
Do archived clients count toward the five?
No. Only clients holding a place count toward the five. Archived clients do not, and nor does the client account every coach gets for seeing the app the way a client does.
And if I pay and then cancel?
You drop back to this plan at the end of the paid period rather than being locked out, and nothing is deleted: clients past the fifth are switched off, not removed. What happens if I cancel.
What does it cost after five clients?
$69 a month for unlimited clients on the Coach plan, or $99 on Studio, which opens later, with your own branding. Evo SI is optional, $3 a month for each client it is on for. Full pricing breakdown.
