The 6 best Trainerize alternatives in 2026.

Every serious platform in this category, ranked, with what each one really costs once the add-ons and the payment fees are counted. Priced from each company's own pages.

Checked 23 September 2026. Trainerize, FitMetrics, Everfit, My PT Hub and PT Distinction checked again 8 October 2026.

The short answer

Evobody is the best Trainerize alternative. It is $69 a month flat for unlimited clients, where Trainerize at fifty clients is $205 a month with nutrition and the Business add-on, before FitMetrics, the AI that drafts check-in replies, which is priced on its own. Price is not the reason it wins, though. It is the only platform here with an AI assistant inside your client's app, a community every client can actually see, ranks that survive longer than seven days, and a check-in that tells you who skipped, and why.

That assistant, Evo SI, is optional and outside the plan price: $3 a month for each client who has it switched on, and on Studio, which opens later, Evo SI is free with your own AI API key. Other coaching apps charge extra for add-ons. We never will: everything we build next comes in too, and you never pay for our progress.

If you want the head to head rather than the field, that is on Evobody vs Trainerize.

The six at a glance

The six, ranked

Best overall

Evobody

The only platform in this category built around the app your client opens rather than the dashboard you sit at, and the only one where the AI is pointed at your client, not just at you.

A restaurant menu, read against this client's allergies and what is left of their day.
  1. Start
  2. Shift
  3. Align
  4. Anchor
  5. Whole

Five ranks, each with its own badge.

Ranks are earned by showing up for what you set. A client can pause their rank for travel or illness without losing it.
A check-in is its own thing, not a form you assemble. It pauses, to be finished later that week.

Evo SI sits in every client's pocket. (SI stands for Super Intelligence, previously known as Artificial Intelligence.) They photograph the menu at the restaurant they are sitting in and ask what they can eat, photograph the fridge and find out what they can make, ask how training went this month and hear which lifts went up, or log a meal by describing it and then correct it by saying "that was a bun, not a roll." Evo SI is told that client's own allergy and diet rules with every question. It works for you too, trained on your philosophy and methods, set up in the app. It is optional, on both paid plans, at $3 a month for each client who has it switched on; switched off for a client, it is hidden from their app and costs nothing.

Ranks your clients climb. Five of them, Start through to Whole, each with its own badge, plus milestones for streaks from a week to a year and sessions from ten to five hundred, and a weekly Pace Setters board. Trainerize has badges and streaks, which are real, but nothing accumulates: points exist only inside a challenge and their own FAQ says a finished challenge "is automatically deleted after 7 days." A client of two years has a badge count and nothing else.

A community your clients can see. Your clients get one of their own, on every plan. No other coach can see your client list or reach your clients. Every post starts from an achievement, because there is no compose button anywhere in the client app.

Check-ins that tell you who skipped, and why, with a screen recorder built in so you can reply by talking over the client's own dashboard with your camera in the corner. No Loom subscription, no three minute cap, no fifty megabyte limit, and no $10 a month video add-on billed by participant hour.

Best for
Coaches whose Trainerize bill grew faster than their roster, and who want the AI in the client's hands.
Price
Free for 5 clients, no time limit. $69 a month for unlimited, $99 on Studio, which opens later, with your own branding. Evo SI is optional, $3 a month for each client using it, and switched off for a client it is hidden from their app and costs nothing. On Studio, Evo SI is free with your own AI API key. No cut of client payments, and no add-ons, ever.
The catch
The newest platform here, so not a decade of gym and third party integrations. Coaches ask, it gets built, it ships to everybody, and the price does not move.

PT Distinction

The cleanest escape from a pricing ladder. No transaction fee, no annual lock in, no minimum term, and $89.90 a month covers fifty clients with extras at $1.60 each after that. Coaches rate it 4.9 on Capterra across 446 reviews with no one star reviews at all. They also solved the thing Trainerize has not: missed session detection shipped in 2026, and their own page frames it well, "Follow up before they go quiet, not after."

The trade is the app your clients hold, which sits at 4.18 on the App Store against 4.9 for the coach software. If you are leaving Trainerize over outages, read those reviews before you decide.

"if you leave the app to go to a different one and then return, it will often refresh back to the homepage, which causes you to lose your place while logging the workout."

N Peciaro, App Store, 18 September 2026

Best for
A coach who wants one predictable bill and never to think about tiers again.
Price
$89.90 a month for 50 clients, then $1.60 each. No free plan, a one month trial.
The catch
Group chat a coach can turn on for a group, but no community feed, no ranks, no AI in the client's app, and clients cannot swap an exercise when the rack is taken.
Best client experience of the rest

Everfit

The closest thing to Trainerize in feel, with a better looking client app and a real free plan holding five clients rather than one. Their forums, leaderboards and challenges give clients something Trainerize's trainer only timeline does not.

The catch is familiar, because it is the same catch. Automation is an add-on from $29 a month, client payments from $9, meal plans and recipe books from $39, and the plan underneath is priced per client so it climbs as you grow. Fifty clients on Everfit's Pro plan with all three start at $199 a month. You would be leaving one add-on ladder for a shorter one.

"What annoys me the most is the numerous add-ons that you have to pay for, which significantly increase the overall cost."

Adam H., Personal Trainer, Capterra, 28 November 2025

Best for
Coaches who want a better looking client app and can live with the add-ons.
Price
From $199 a month at 50 clients with Autoflow, Payments and Meal Plans, per Everfit's pricing page, 8 October 2026. Free for 5 clients.
The catch
Priced per client, so the bill climbs with the roster, and habits, forums and challenges all start at Pro tier.
Nutrition on every plan

My PT Hub

Where Trainerize charges $45 a month for Advanced Nutrition Coaching, My PT Hub puts nutrition and habit tracking on every plan. Their Workouts AI takes plain language rather than keywords, which is more than Trainerize's builder manages, though it lives on the web only and not in their mobile apps.

Two things to know first. Their own help centre on a missed week: "If a client misses a Check-In... they will not be able to complete it, they will need to wait for the next Check-In to open." And annual billing "paid monthly" is a twelve month commitment needing thirty days written notice before the end of the term.

Best for
Coaches whose Trainerize bill was mostly the nutrition add-on.
Price
$59 a month on Premium, month to month, or $52 a month on the twelve month plan, and Check-Ins AI is $12 a month more, per My PT Hub's pricing page, 8 October 2026.
The catch
There are no ranks and no badges.
Strong on wearables

CoachRx

Built out of OPEX Fitness, with assessment depth and wearable support better than most of this category, and a check-in dashboard that flags clients who have missed two sessions in a row, which Trainerize does not do at all. Coaches rate it 5.0 on Capterra.

Then there is the 2%. CoachRx adds two percent of its own on top of normal card processing on every payment a client makes you, which their help centre documents as a total of 4.9% plus 30 cents per transaction, and which appears nowhere on their pricing page. At fifty clients paying $200 each that is about $200 a month, two and a half times their own subscription.

Best for
Assessment led coaching with heavy wearable use.
Price
$79 a month for 6 to 50 clients, plus 2% of everything collected, so about $279 at fifty clients.
The catch
Their own help centre: "Can clients communicate with each other? No, client communication is only with coaches." Client app ratings are 3.65 and 3.43.
Simplest to run

TrueCoach

Well liked, 4.8 on Capterra across 838 reviews with not one single star among them, and a great deal simpler than Trainerize to live in day to day. If the reason you are leaving is that Trainerize has too many moving parts, this is the smallest surface area in the category.

What it costs is the problem. TrueCoach's card processing fee is a flat 5% fee per transaction, from their own help centre, while their pricing page answers "Are there any extra fees?" with "Nope, what you see is what you get." That comes on top of a $165 plan at fifty clients.

Best for
A small roster that pays you outside the platform.
Price
$165 a month for 50 clients, plus a flat 5% card processing fee on every client payment taken through it.
The catch
No AI anywhere in the product, no community, no real check-in object, and no recording inside the app.

What a coach with fifty clients, each paying $200 a month, actually pays. Month to month, from each platform's own pricing page, 23 September 2026; Trainerize, FitMetrics, Everfit, My PT Hub and PT Distinction, 8 October 2026.

Evo SI is the one thing not inside the plan price, and it is optional. On Coach it is $3 a month for each client who has it switched on, and switched off for a client, it is hidden from their app and costs nothing. On Studio, which opens later, Evo SI is free with your own AI API key. Trainerize's FitMetrics drafts check-in replies for you rather than answering your client at eight in the evening, and its price, in its own words on 8 October 2026: "The Starter plan is $6/client with a 1-client minimum and the Scale plan is $10/client with a 50-client minimum."

Two of those platforms also charge on every payment your clients make you through them: CoachRx adds 2% of its own on top of card processing, and TrueCoach's card processing fee is a flat 5% per transaction. So their real cost is set by how well your business is doing. If you are leaving Trainerize because the bill grows faster than the roster, those two do the same thing in a different shape.

No add-ons, now or ever. Other coaching apps charge extra for add-ons. We never will: programming, repeating programs, a food database of about 2.6 million foods, check-ins, the check-in screen recorder, habits, the community, ranks, GPS run tracking and client payment tracking are all in the plan, and everything we build next comes in too. You never pay for our progress.

Who answers your clients' questions about the app

Your clients will have questions about the app. On Evobody they ask from inside it, any hour, and we answer, so you are not the help desk for software you did not build, and anything about their training or food still comes to you. TrueCoach and CoachRx help clients directly too. Of the seven platforms here, Evobody is the only one that publishes 24/7 support for your clients. How client support works.

Platform24/7 support for your clients
EvobodyYes, from inside the app, on every plan
CoachRxNo. They do help clients directly, in "normal business hours", and aim to reply within 24 to 48 hours.
PT DistinctionNo hours published. Their plans promise "Same day support".
TrueCoachNo hours published. They do help clients directly, by email.
EverfitNo hours published for clients. Their help centre gives none. Their "24/7 Support Team" is on the Enterprise plan only.
My PT HubNo hours published. Their pricing page gives none.
ABC TrainerizeNo. Their help section for clients, "Clients of Trainers", sends them back to you.

Why coaches leave Trainerize

Trainerize is the biggest name in the category and their client app is rated 4.9 by nearly seventy thousand people. This is not a page about a bad product. The reasons coaches go looking are specific.

  • The price steps, hard. Your third client takes you from $10 to $25. Your sixth from $25 to $50. Your thirty first from $79 to $135, which is $56 a month for one person.
  • The AI you actually want is an add-on. Trainerize's own AI builds one workout at a time and cannot assign it. The AI that drafts check-in replies and reads macros from a meal photo is FitMetrics, bought by ABC Fitness in September 2026 and now sold as an add-on inside Trainerize. Its price, in its own words on 8 October 2026: "The Starter plan is $6/client with a 1-client minimum and the Scale plan is $10/client with a 50-client minimum."
  • Reliability. ABC Fitness's own status page records eleven incidents affecting the Trainerize apps since October 2025, nine of them major or critical, including five major incidents inside four days in June 2026. They announced a reliability task force in their own June 2026 update.

"Their app and online platform is constantly glitching, they have recurrent service outages and their customer service gives you canned responses when you reach out to them with no apologies for the service disruption."

Nicky, Trustpilot, 6 March 2026

And the one that costs evenings rather than money, from a coach on Trainerize's own idea board.

"Often times when changing something in a workout plan I have to un-schedule all of the workouts for that day/phase and then reschedule every item in the exact order I want it... It's a very inflexible process that requires many hours sometimes to make even just a simple change."

Todd Norman, on Trainerize's own idea board, 19 August 2025

How we compared these

Most lists of Trainerize alternatives are affiliate pages, and you can tell because none of the claims on them have a link behind them. Here is the method for this one.

  • Every price comes from the company's own pricing page, month to month, read on 23 September 2026, and Trainerize's, FitMetrics', Everfit's and My PT Hub's again on 8 October 2026. Annual figures are never mixed with monthly ones.
  • Every capability claim comes from the company's own help centre or documentation, not from a feature grid. Where their wording is the clearest statement of the thing, it is quoted and linked.
  • Every review quote links to the review site it is on, with the reviewer's name and the date.
  • The fifty client figure assumes each client pays you $200 a month, which is what makes a percentage fee comparable to a subscription.
  • Where a competitor is better, it says so. Trainerize's integrations are the widest in the category and its client app has the highest rating count by a distance. CoachRx flags two missed sessions in a row, which Trainerize does not.

Evobody is our own product and this page argues for it. Everything above is checkable, which is the only reason to trust any of it.

Moving off Trainerize

You get dedicated support for the move. Your client list comes across in one go, and Evobody's team helps you bring over your programs, plans and documents rather than rebuild them from nothing. If you have been putting the move off because rebuilding a year of programming sounds like a fortnight of evenings, that is the part we help with. The full detail is in the switching guide.

Questions coaches ask before switching

Is there a cheaper alternative to Trainerize that still has AI?

Evobody, at $69 a month for unlimited clients, with Evo SI at $3 a month for each client who has it switched on. It is optional: switched off for a client, it is hidden from their app and costs nothing. On Studio, once it opens, Evo SI is free with your own AI API key. FitMetrics, Trainerize's AI, is an add-on priced on its own, in its own words on Trainerize's FitMetrics page, 8 October 2026: "The Starter plan is $6/client with a 1-client minimum and the Scale plan is $10/client with a 50-client minimum." Evobody has no add-ons, and everything we build next comes in too.

Does any alternative have a free plan?

Evobody is free for up to five active clients with no time limit and no card. Everfit's free plan is the same shape. Trainerize's own free tier holds one client. TrueCoach, CoachRx, My PT Hub and PT Distinction run trials instead.

Which alternative tells me when a client misses a check-in?

Evobody tells you when a client skips a check-in, with their reason, and four days after a check-in opens, the app asks the client for it before anything else. PT Distinction added missed session detection in 2026. CoachRx flags two missed sessions in a row. Trainerize, TrueCoach and My PT Hub do not.

Will my clients lose their history?

No. The move brings your client list, programs, plans and documents with you, and it is supported rather than left to you.

What is the best Trainerize alternative in 2026?

Evobody. It is $69 a month flat for unlimited clients, where Trainerize at 50 clients is $205 a month with nutrition and the Business add-on, and FitMetrics, its AI check-ins, is priced on its own, from $6 a client a month. Evobody's own client AI, Evo SI, is optional, at $3 a month for each client who has it switched on, on Coach. On the $99 Studio plan, which opens later, Evo SI is free with your own AI API key. Evobody also includes a community every client can see, five ranks earned week by week, and a check-in that tells you who skipped, and why.

Why are coaches leaving ABC Trainerize?

Three reasons show up repeatedly. Pricing steps hard by client count, so a thirty first client takes a coach from $79 to $135 a month. The AI that drafts check-in replies is an add-on, FitMetrics, priced on its own from $6 a client a month, per Trainerize's FitMetrics page, 8 October 2026. And ABC Fitness's own status page records eleven incidents affecting the Trainerize apps since October 2025, nine of them major or critical.

How much does Trainerize really cost for 50 clients?

The Pro 50 plan is $135 a month. Advanced Nutrition Coaching adds $45 and the Business add-on adds $25, so $205 a month before any AI, and taking payments or video coaching through Trainerize is $10 a month more each. FitMetrics, the add-on for AI check-in drafting and meal photo analysis, is priced on its own, in its own words on Trainerize's FitMetrics page, 8 October 2026: "The Starter plan is $6/client with a 1-client minimum and the Scale plan is $10/client with a 50-client minimum." Evobody is $69 a month flat with all of that included. Other coaching apps charge extra for add-ons; we never will, and everything we build next comes in too.

Which Trainerize alternative has AI in the client's own app?

Evobody. Evo SI is available on both paid plans, optional, at $3 a month for each client who has it switched on, and it reads that client's program, targets and numbers and is told their allergy and diet rules with every question. Everfit, My PT Hub, CoachRx and PT Distinction all have AI that builds things for the coach rather than helping the client, and TrueCoach has no AI in the product at all. Trainerize's AI add-on, FitMetrics, works for the coach and is priced on its own, from $6 a client a month, per Trainerize's FitMetrics page, 8 October 2026.

Do Trainerize clients actually see the community feed?

No. Trainerize Groups have four tabs and their own help centre states that only trainers see all four, while clients see just the Summary and Files tabs. The Timeline, which is the activity feed, is trainer only, and Groups and Challenges require the Pro 5 plan or above. On Evobody every client sees the community feed, and every post in it starts from an achievement because there is no compose button in the client app.

Comparing something else?

Evobody is the future of online fitness coaching software. Everything it does is on features, and the full head to head is on Evobody vs Trainerize. Every Trainerize plan and add-on, at 5, 20 and 50 clients, is on Trainerize pricing 2026.

One price. No add-ons. Ever.

Coach is $69 a month for five clients or five hundred, month to month. Five clients are free for as long as you like, with no card.
