Pause, and finish later that week
A check-in does not have to be done in one sitting. When a client pauses, their answers are kept on the phone, so they can come back to it later that week and carry on with everything they typed still there. Photos upload the moment they are taken, so they are saved with the client's progress photos even before the check-in is sent.
A paused check-in belongs to its week. When the next week opens, it starts fresh, and a past week cannot be filled in later.
Your questions, client by client
The ten are where every coach starts, and any one client's check-in can be changed without touching anybody else's. Switch a question off for them, or add their own: a long or short answer, a 1 to 10 scale, a choice of options, or a measurement. A measurement, such as the waist, the hips or resting heart rate, is saved as one of the client's tracked measurements, in their own unit. You can also switch the check-in off for a client altogether.
Or give a client a form of your own in place of the ten. Start one from the weekly check-in, change it however you like, and set it for that client with the day it opens. Their app then asks your form on that day and files it as that week's check-in. A form of your own asks only what you put in it.
The forms builder
Forms are built on your desk, from four starting points: a blank form, a copy of the weekly check-in to make your own, PAR-Q with its seven safety questions and a signature, and an agreement to sign, with the words they read, their name and a signature.
The day it opens, and the reminders
You pick the day each client's check-in opens, and it is Sunday unless you choose another. That morning their app tells them it is open, and it reminds them once more three days later if it is still empty. The card on their home screen says how late it is, day by day. A client who joins partway through a week owes nothing that week; their first check-in is the next one. Clients can turn these reminders off in their own settings.
Four days after it opens, the app asks for the check-in before anything else. Every screen but the check-in waits until the client sends it, or skips the week and says why: travelling, unwell or injured, busy with work or life, needing a reset week, or something else in their own words. A second skip in a row needs a note for you. You are told either way.
What you see
When a check-in comes in or is skipped, you get a notification, and a skipped week comes with the client's reason and their note. On your client list, a mark shows whose check-in is in.
Open a client and their check-ins are listed week by week: a tick for each one answered, a dash for a week they skipped, and this week marked while it is not in yet. Beside the answers sit their latest weight, with the change since the weigh-in before, and how many of this week's planned sessions they have done. Under Forms, the weekly check-in's latest answers from every client are in one list, each marked submitted or skipped, with the photos that came with it.
Reply in writing, or on video
A written reply goes in your chat with the client, once chat is switched on for them. A video reply is recorded from a computer: a frame opens over the client's own dashboard, your camera sits in a round bubble you can move, and you talk them through their numbers. Pause and resume as you go, and pick the size, from quickest to send up to 1080p. The recording is kept on your computer as it records and sent in parts, so a refreshed page does not lose it.
Once it has sent, you choose whether it goes on the client's home screen, and they are told it is there. They watch it, then tap that they are clear, or send you a question about it, and you are alerted. You can also copy a link to the video, which plays without signing in, or open WhatsApp with a message ready when the client has a phone number on file.
The recorder is built in, so the Loom or ScreenPal subscription many coaches pay for to do this is one more thing you stop paying for.
Check-ins, ranks and Coachable
When ranks are on for a client, the weekly check-in is part of their plan for the week: their rank page shows it as done or not yet, beside their workouts and their food. Clients who send a check-in every week also earn Coachable, a step at 4, 8 and 12 weeks in a row, and skipping a week starts it over.
Progress photos
Photos sent with a check-in join the client's progress photos. On your side, front, side and back each show the start beside now, with the weight change between them, and the full library behind them. The client compares their own in their journey, two at a time, on dates they choose. Compared a month apart, front, side and back show what a scale cannot.
What check-ins cost
Nothing extra. Check-ins, the forms builder and the video recorder are in every plan: free for your first five clients, then $69 a month for as many clients as you have. Evo SI is the one thing outside the plan price, at $3 a month for each client you switch it on for, and check-ins do not need it. It is optional: switched off for a client, it is hidden from their app and costs nothing.
Evobody is free for your first five clients, so you can send a real check-in before paying anything. See pricing.
No add-ons, now or ever. Other coaching apps charge extra for add-ons. We never will: every coaching feature is on every plan, everything we build next comes in too, and you never pay for our progress.
Questions about check-ins
Does Evobody have weekly check-ins?
Yes, in every plan, the free one included. Each client gets a weekly check-in in their app on the day you pick: ten questions by default, four of them 1 to 10 sliders, then their weight and optional front, side and back photos. You reply in writing or with a video recorded over their dashboard.
Can I change the check-in questions?
Yes, for any one client. Switch any of the ten off, add your own long or short answers, 1 to 10 scales, choices or measurements, or give the client a form of your own in place of the ten, opening on the day you choose.
Can I reply to a check-in with a video?
Yes. From a computer, you record a video over the client's own dashboard with your camera in a corner, and choose whether it goes on their home screen. They can tell you they are clear, or send you a question about it, and you are alerted.
What happens when a client misses a check-in?
The app reminds them when it opens and once more three days later. Four days after it opens, the app asks for it before anything else, until they send it or skip the week and say why, and you are told either way. A past week cannot be filled in later.
Can a client pause a check-in and finish it later?
Yes. Their answers are kept on the phone, so they can come back to it later that week and carry on, with everything they typed still there. Photos are saved the moment they are taken.
Do check-ins cost extra on Evobody?
No. Check-ins, the forms builder and the video recorder are in every plan: free for your first five clients, then $69 a month for any number. Evo SI is priced on its own, at $3 a month for each client you switch it on for, and check-ins do not need it. It is optional: switched off for a client, it is hidden from their app and costs nothing.
