What fifty clients actually costs
| TrueCoach, 50 clients (their pricing) | Monthly |
|---|---|
| Pro plan, up to 50 clients | $165 |
| Their card processing fee, on client payments taken through it | 5% flat per transaction |
Evobody is $69 a month on the Coach plan, or $99 on Studio, which opens later, with your own branding, and takes no cut of anything.
Their tiers are five clients, twenty clients, then fifty, with nothing in between. A coach with six clients pays the twenty client price. A coach with twenty one pays the fifty client price, which is two and a half times more for one extra person. Past fifty there is no published price at all, just an email address.
"I also do not like that the price doubles from 20 clients to 21. That does not make sense and is not friendly for mid-tier coaches with a moderate workload."
No add-ons, now or ever. Other coaching apps charge extra for add-ons. We never will: every coaching feature is on every plan, everything we build next comes in too, and you never pay for our progress.
Check-ins, in their own words
TrueCoach has no check-in feature and no form builder. This is their own help centre answering how to run a check-in:
"But, what is the best way to deliver other tasks/activities like lifestyle check-in's, assessments and questionnaires? The best way to do this is by utilizing that same workout builder!"
So a check-in is a workout with questions in it, answered in free text boxes, and found again later by searching. Their ready made template cannot even be switched on by you: existing coaches have to email support and wait up to forty eight hours for someone to load it into the account.
In Evobody a check-in is a real thing. Each client's weeks are listed on their page, answered or skipped, you are told when one comes in or is skipped, and you reply by writing or by recording a video over the client's own dashboard with your camera in the corner. That recorder is built in, so the Loom or ScreenPal subscription most coaches pay for is one more thing you stop paying for.

Evo SI, in every client's app
SI stands for Super Intelligence, previously known as Artificial Intelligence.
- Photograph the menu at the restaurant they are sitting in and ask what they can eat.
- Photograph the inside of the fridge and see what is in there they can have.
- Ask how training went this month and hear which lifts went up.
- Log a meal by describing it, then correct it by saying "that was a bun, not a roll."
- Type in their weight, blood pressure or blood sugar and it goes straight into their record.
It reads their plan, their targets, their phase and their numbers, and it is told that client's own allergy and diet rules with every question. It proposes, the client confirms, and it never overrules their coach.
It works for you too, trained on your philosophy and methods, set up in the app. And it is optional: switched off for a client, it is hidden from their app.
There is no AI inside TrueCoach. They market an "AI Program Builder" and an "AI Meal Plan Generator", but both are downloads behind an email form rather than parts of the product, and the meal planner is described on their own site as "a fully customizable, Notion-based tool". Across all 173 articles in their help centre there is not one about AI.
Numbers your clients can actually log
Evobody records sets, reps and weight as real numbers, so progress is a line you can both look at. On TrueCoach a client types their sets and reps into a text box, and it is one of the most common complaints their own clients make: several of them describe logging their lifts in a separate tracking app and copying the numbers across so their coach can read them.
A community, and a reason to keep going
TrueCoach has no community. No feed, no groups, no challenges, no leaderboards, no streaks and no ranks. Searching all 173 of their help articles for any of those words returns nothing. What exists is a group chat capped at twenty people, which can only be created on the web.
"There is no function to build a strong community in the app."
On Evobody your clients get a private community feed on every plan, shared with your other clients and nobody else. No other coach can see your client list or reach your clients. Every post starts from an achievement, because there is no compose button anywhere in the client app.
And clients climb five ranks, Start through to Whole, earned week by week against their own plan, collect milestones for streaks and sessions, and land on the weekly Pace Setters board when they show up for what you set them.
Progress photos your clients will actually take
The client picks their angles and presses Start for each one. A voice names the pose, the app counts them in from six and takes the photo by itself, tagged front, side or back, so nobody else needs to be in the room.
TrueCoach progress photos are entirely manual, started by the client, with no guide, no prompt and no reminder. You cannot even ask for a set.
Video that just works
TrueCoach is known for video feedback, and it is worth knowing what that actually means: there is no recording inside the app at all. You upload a file, capped at 200 megabytes, or paste a YouTube link. Their own guidance tells clients to trim their videos, stay on strong wifi, not leave the app mid upload, and download a separate compression app. Video is the single largest complaint category in their app reviews.
Support for your clients, day or night
When a client has a question about the app, they ask from inside it, any hour, and Evobody answers. You are not the help desk for software you did not build, and anything about their training or food still comes to you. Of the seven platforms we compare, Evobody is the only one that publishes 24/7 support for your clients. See all seven.
| Platform | 24/7 support for your clients |
|---|---|
| Evobody | Yes, from inside the app, on every plan |
| TrueCoach | No hours published. They do help clients directly, by email. |

What has shipped lately
Of the 173 articles in TrueCoach's help centre, nine have been touched in the past year: seven of them the payment fee rewrite, two of them voice notes. None in the past six months. Every release of their iOS app since April says only "bug fixes and performance improvements."
Their public status page has been switched off. Visiting it returns "This page is currently inactive and can only be viewed by team members." Coaches noticed:
"The reliability has become unbelievably poor. Over recent months there have been repeated outages, extended downtime and now multiple huge maintenance windows that have directly disrupted my business operations... The suggested solution was to 'tell clients to screenshot their workouts beforehand'. Imagine a professional company asking that."
Trustpilot only holds nineteen TrueCoach reviews, so that is a small sample and worth saying so. It is also where the recent, unsolicited ones are.
Evobody ships every week, and new features never cost more.
Moving to Evobody
You get dedicated support for the move. Your client list comes across in one go, and Evobody's team helps you bring over your programs, plans and documents rather than rebuild them from nothing. The full detail is in the switching guide.
Evobody is the future of online fitness coaching software.
Questions coaches ask
Does TrueCoach charge a fee on client payments?
Yes. TrueCoach's own help centre states a flat 5% fee per transaction on every client invoice, plus $15 for each chargeback. That article was rewritten in December 2025; before then it listed 2.9% plus 30 cents in the US and 1.4% plus 30 pence in the UK. Their pricing page still answers the question about extra fees with the words what you see is what you get. Evobody takes no cut of what a coach's clients pay them.
How much does TrueCoach cost for 50 clients?
TrueCoach's Pro plan covers up to 50 clients at $164.98 a month. On top of that, their card processing fee on every client payment taken through it is a flat 5% per transaction. Evobody is $69 a month with no cut taken. TrueCoach publishes no price at all above 50 clients.
Does TrueCoach have check-ins?
Not as a feature. TrueCoach's own help centre advises coaches to build check-ins, assessments and questionnaires using the workout builder, with clients answering in free text fields. Their ready made check-in template cannot be enabled by the coach: existing accounts must email support and wait up to 48 hours. In Evobody a check-in is a first class feature, and you are told when one comes in or is skipped.
Does TrueCoach have AI?
There is no AI feature inside the TrueCoach product. They market an AI Program Builder and an AI Meal Plan Generator, but both are downloads behind an email form rather than parts of the app, and the meal planner is described on their own site as a Notion based tool. None of the 173 articles in their help centre covers AI.
What is the best TrueCoach alternative for coaches?
Evobody. It is $69 a month flat for unlimited clients, or $99 on Studio, which opens later, with branding, takes no cut of client payments, and has an optional AI assistant in every client's app at $3 a month per client using it, a community with ranked progression included, real check-ins with a built-in screen recorder for video replies, progress photos with a count-in and live GPS tracking.
