There is no term to escape from
Evobody is month to month. No minimum term, no notice period, no annual contract, and no downgrade window. You cancel, you finish the month you paid for, you land on the free plan.
That is worth stating explicitly because it is not the norm in this category. My PT Hub's subscription agreement calls its annual-billed-monthly plan a Monthly Annual Account, requires thirty days written notice before the end of the term to stop it renewing, only allows a downgrade after the initial term has run, and states that fees already due are not credited or refunded, including on early termination.
"I downgraded months ago because my clients started complaining about the app... NOW they take $22 from me every month since when I downgraded to the basic plan... but they imposed a 12-month term on me... even after trying to cancel, they denied my request because the term is for 12 months while paying for a worthless app and having no clients on it."
A failed card is a different, gentler path
Cancelling is a decision and takes effect at period end. A failed card is usually just an expired one, not a decision, so it gets a 21 day grace period from the first failure before anything locks. Either way, a client never loses access to their own history because of their coach's billing.
If a card fails instead
The first failure starts a 21 day grace period, and a note in the coach's billing settings shows the date it runs to, saying nothing is deleted and everything keeps working until then. Clients notice nothing and keep logging. If the card is still not fixed after the 21 days, the coach cannot switch on new clients until it is; the clients already on carry on.
What "switched off" means, exactly
On the free plan five clients can use the app. If you had thirty, the other twenty five are switched off, not deleted. Their programs, logs, check-ins, photos and messages all stay where they are. The five most recently active keep their places. Subscribe again and the rest come back exactly as they were, with nothing to rebuild and nothing to re-import.
The same is true of everything you built rather than everyone you coach: your exercise library, your program templates, your check-in forms and your documents are unaffected by a plan change.
What a switched off client notices
A switched off client cannot sign in until their coach switches them on again. Nothing they logged goes anywhere in the meantime: their workouts, food, check-ins, photos and messages wait exactly as they were, and switching them back on opens the same app with the same history.
Why it works this way
Your clients are your business, not ours. Locking a coach out of their own client history to force a renewal is a thing software does when it has nothing better to offer, and it punishes the client hardest, since they did not choose the software and cannot fix the bill. So a lapsed subscription narrows what Evobody does for you. It never takes away what you already did.
Questions about cancelling
What happens if I cancel my Evobody subscription?
Cancelling drops a coach to the free plan at the end of the period they have already paid for. Nothing is deleted. Clients past the fifth are switched off rather than removed, and subscribing again brings them back with their full history. A client never loses access to their own history because of their coach's billing.
Does Evobody have a minimum term or annual contract?
No. Evobody is month to month with no minimum term, no notice period and no annual lock-in. That is not true across the category: My PT Hub's annual plan paid monthly is a twelve month commitment that requires thirty days written notice before the end of the term to stop it renewing.
What happens if my card fails on Evobody?
A failed card gets a 21 day grace period from the first failure before anything locks. A failed card is usually an expired one rather than a decision, so it is treated differently from a cancellation. Clients keep logging throughout.
Is anything deleted when I cancel?
No. The account drops to the free plan with the full history intact rather than being closed, so nothing has to be rescued on a deadline. A coach's clients belong to that coach, not to Evobody.
Which five clients stay on the free plan?
The five most recently active keep their places. The rest are switched off, not deleted, and every one of them comes back when you subscribe again, up to the plan's limit, which on Coach is none.
What is the free plan I would land on?
Five active clients, every coaching feature, no time limit and no card. It is the same product the paid plans run, with room for five clients instead of unlimited. More on the free plan.
Do my clients get charged anything?
Never. Your clients pay you, however you already collect, and nothing in the client app is for sale, Evo SI included, which is billed to the coach. Do my clients pay for Evobody?
